I have a long distance shot to give some size perspective and then 3 close ups....

....the options so far:
reef scorpionfish
coral scorpionfish
just a small scorpion fish

....anyone know for sure ??

BTW: The site is not letting me upload the pics to this thread?!??

Stuart,

I think they told us this was a juvenile Mushroom Scorpionfish... not seeing your photo but guessing by the size you gave.

It was great meeting and diving with you last week. I rely on you all to post photos since my camera died!

Hard to say without a photo but could be either a very juvenile or a Mushroom Scorpion. Can you upload a photo to the gallery? Or if it's there a link to it?

I wish I could have stayed the 2 weeks... if they see Whale Sharks this week I will be so happy for them and so bummed for us :-(!

And I learned my camera didn't work after we landed... it worked at home and then all of a sudden every image had horizontal white lines across them, I did some research and it appears to be a CCD issue :-(

I used John's little camera while he video'ed... but since I am not familiar with it am not too hopeful about the images... let me look at some tonight.

They could in no way compare to Depelos's and I am looking forward to seeing Stuart's!

Nice Photos Stu!

What do you use to generate your photo albums on your website?

I'm looking for alternative methods to quickly generate albums that'll integrate well into existing websites.

Quite nice pics Stuart. Let us all know what you hear about that mushroom scorpion fish or whatever it might be. BTW - I too quite like the layout of your website - it's got quite a nice look to it and I really like that you can click on a photo once to see a medium size and then again to see a much larger size. You'll have to share what you use to do that since it's perfect for everyone, both those who just want a quick look and for those of us who'd like to check out every detail. Thanks mate.

glad you liked the photos (you didn't see the several hundred I took getting used to the new camera) - if anyone wants to try and photoshop the backscatter out of the one of delpelos on the twilight dive, it could make a nice photo.

On my site I use Coppermine for the gallery (the rest of the website is using CSS/html and I just use Macromedia to maintain it), Coppermine does all the hard stuff for you fo rthe photos - just some config settings required....if you are using Linux for your web hosting you can use Coppermine, otherwise there are some other options out there if you are windows based (all free stuff)

Yes, a refurbed Oly 5050. I just got it last September. I have an email into them, and now that I am back I will call... I saw a service notice on the problem and am hoping the repair will be low or no cost :-). Thanks, Dee.

Jennifer

The same thing happened to mine about a month before that notice went public. It cost me $192 to fix it. About a week after the notice went out, I got an email from them that my repair was be covered and that a refund check would be sent. I got it about 10 days after that. I know several people whose camera hadn't messed up yet but the serial number was included in the notice. They sent them in and got the free repair, only cost was to ship it to them.

So don't worry, Oly will take care of ya!
