Dive Gear Info & Tips: Save-A-Dive Kits

Scuba Save-A-Dive Kits Header

Save-A-Dive Tips

Another diving necessity is a save-a-dive kit. These can be purchased preassembled or you can put together your own kit... it should contain:
  • A variety and sizes of o-rings.
  • An o-ring or SCUBA tool.
  • A basic first aid kit.
  • A replacement mask, mouthpiece and fin strap.
  • Extra batteries for lights, computers or cameras.
  • A pen for your dive log.
  • Cyalume sticks for night and low-vis diving.
  • Silicon lube.
  • Tie wraps.
  • A padlock for securing lockers.
  • Replacement camera parts or accessories if you need them.
Don't count on dive boat operators to have what you need because often they don't. To save bulk when traveling, at least one person in your group should be responsible for carrying a complete save-a-dive kit with other members being responsible for their own extra straps.

It's good to store these items together in a durable container so they'll be ready and together when you need them.
