Dive Booties Tips
Dive booties, like all other dive gear come with a few choices to make. The most important factor is that they work well with your
dive computer and are not so bulky they cause your fins to pinch. They are designed for use with open heel fins and you should be able to wiggle your toes when wearing them.
Booties come in low and high styles and various sole compositions. We recommend ones with sturdy soles so they can be used as shoes to walk across the hot sand or to the boat. They are also added protection against stepping on something unpleasant when entering or exiting the water. Choose a thickness of neoprene that corresponds to the type of diving you will do. Always try them on with your
fins.
Care for them as you would your
wetsuit. Wash and rinse thoroughly and allow to dry in a cool area. Store them out of the heat and sun when not in use. Occasionally lubricate the zippers to keep them working well.
